Another heavy downpour in the Kumasi Metropolis Saturday evening has left in it’s trail, the drowning of a 5 year old boy.
The deceased and the elder brother were seeking shelter from the rain at the airport roundabout when he allegedly slipped into a gutter.
The gutter has for sometime now remained a death trap.
Speaking to Aboagye Frank Jackson of Halidas News, an eyewitness, Yaw Mensah opined that the mishap could have been avoided if authorities had listened to their complaints about the gutter.
He accused city authorities of always dragging their feet to solving crucial problems.
Mr Mensah who was almost in tears said the boy was full of life few minutes to the sad event.
Rescue efforts by NADMO,Fire Service and a section of the residents proved fruitless as the body of the toddler could not be found.
