The Goaso Forestry Commission have engaged the services of the Military to combat illegal activities in the eight (8) forest reserves in the four political districts under Goaso Forestry commission in the Brong Ahafo region.
The Forest staffs and some few military has been battling with illegal farming, illegal logging among others for years now.
The Assistant Manager of Goaso Forestry Commission, Mr. Ernest Adofo who led the team of Military personnel, Regional and National Forestry commission staffs to tour the reserves said the military had agreed to established military camps in all the eight reserves as military training centres.
“Our main reason is to set a military camp here to protect the forest because many ways we tried to protect the forest proved avail so the only option is to establish a military camp to keep the forest safe”, he said.
Mr. Adofo in an interview with the media, called for public support to protect the Forest reserves and natural resources.
