Concerned NABCO trainees write
Trust this message finds you well. We are Nabco Trainees from the Accra Metro district and all over Ghana .
This message is with respect to serious reservations we have about the Nabco program and how government officials are painting the wrong picture to the general public over matters that bother on placement and payments.
1. This was a program that was supposed to kick start in August 2018. We received engagement letters in October 2018 and nothing happened. Placements began in piecemeal from November. Some of the trainees that were placed were rejected by the organizations meant to receive them(MIPs), case in point is the Kofi Annan Peace Keeping Centre.
Several thousand others including myself have still not been posted although we are part of the selected so called 100,000.
2. Again not everyone has been paid since November and nothing has been received for the month of December for all NABCO trainees and yet only a few days ago, information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is telling the whole world all 100,000 have been placed and paid since November.
3. From Information gathering less than 15,000 persons have been placed leaving over 90,000 qualified trainees still in the house. No NABCO trainee has been paid the month of December, 2018 allowance. And as for the November allowance only less than 30,000 trainees have actually received the money and not as speculated that 100,000 people have been paid and placed ….most of the modules are not working and don’t know where to place them though they are qualified to serve the nation, some are also rejected at where they were placed.
4. We are not happy at all with the way handlers of the program have managed this noble presidential initiative. We are equally disappointed in the minister for not being honest with the facts and would like the opportunity for Nabco Trainees to be invited to tell their side of the story.
We see this NABCO programme as a means for politicians to score cheap political point like that of YEA, etc who were not paid as was touted.
This is not a matter of NDC or NPP.
